Roger and Melanie Hoffman have been writing songs and performing together since 1982. Roger's appearances on CD include vocal solos with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and dozens of other recorded works. He has also been a featured vocal soloist on the Choir's "Music and the Spoken Word" television program. He has received awards for his compositions including the CLIO for his songwriting for Bonneville International’s Homefront Spots and the Peabody award for musical underscoring of the NPR series “Bradbury 13.” As a songwriter, his most recognized work is "Consider the Lilies of the Field" title-song of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's best-selling CD.
Roger is an active vocal-coach and music producer in Utah.
Melanie's life-time focus has been on art, literature and music for children. Her best known writings for children include the audio series’ the “Scripture Scouts” and “Alexander's Amazing Adventures.” Melanie's song "Savior" recently received a Pearl award from the Faith-Centered Music Association. Together, Melanie and Roger have also written for National Geographic television. They have released nine CDs of their songs and have taken their message in word and song throughout the United States and to Jerusalem.
Roger and Melanie, with their partners, Marvin Payne and Steven Kapp Perry, have written extensively for children and are presently developing Scripture Scouts.com, and have been commissioned to write a children’s television series on relationships for BYU-TV.
The Hoffmans have created the "Faith in Christ" series for young children, beginning with a CD released in 2006, "Lullabies of Jesus and Other Gentle Songs" followed by a 2008 release with Deseret Book of "Stories of Jesus," a CD of songs for children about the life of the Savior.
Their most recent activities have been the writing and production of English-language learning songs for European elementary school distribution.
They have four sons who are actively involved in their own media careers.
